On September 7, a press-conference dedicated to the third scientific conference for young scientists and startupers Falling Walls Lab Kyiv 2017 was held at Klitschko Expo. Speakers overviewed a wide range of topics – from the possibilities for Ukrainian innovators on the world market of technologies to lifehacks for winning pitches.

This year Falling Walls Lab Kyiv 2017 will take place on September 30. Young scientists, startupers and inventors have an opportunity to present their projects and submit a request for participation until September 10.

Vitalii Klitschko, Founder at Klitschko Foundation, spotlighted the trends of the project in Ukraine, “While we are waiting for innovation parks within universities and scientific institutes to be built, the ideas will get outdated. And, of course, the most active ones search for and find opportunities for realization, in Ukraine and abroad. Moreover, they are ‘hunted’ by leading universities and companies from all over the world. And those who are capable to present a project well know foreign languages, English above all, are sure to find right tools to bring their ideas to life and change the world.”

“At SoftServe we are happy to join Falling Walls Lab Kyiv for the third time, since we believe that the development of innovative mindset, entrepreneurship and knowledge industry in general can turn Ukraine into a Europe’s IT centre”, Oleksii Merkulov, VP, Client Success at SoftServe comments. “By partnering with non-governmental organizations and leading Ukrainian technology companies, we make joint contribution to creating the environment of a completely new level, where young geniuses can find inspiration, exchange experience, seek for advice or help. By applying new inventions and innovative ideas that evolve from such cooperation, the country may not only improve its economy, but also make positive changes in life, security and comfort of millions of people in the country and abroad.”

“For these six months I’ve been working in Ukraine, I want to acknowledge high level potential of Ukrainian young people. One day, if one young scientist had failed to present his project and hadn’t found support, we wouldn’t have developed high technology solutions and there wouldn’t have been any innovations. Today they present the idea, and tomorrow they become the coworkers within our laboratories. That’s why we are happy to support Falling Walls Lab Kyiv conference for the second time in a row”, says Ives Picket, Head of agriсulture unit at Bayer in Ukraine and CIS countries. Alyona Kalibaba, Country Ambassador at SeedStars and Head of Chasopys Creative Family, shared the benefits for Ukrainian projects in participating in international competitions, such as minimal risks while investigating the development and scaling a project, possibilities to present and scale a company, to find an investor and partners. “International programs and conferences are extremely important for strengthening of Ukrainian local entrepreneurial mindset, that’s why we are developing SeedStars in Ukraine.”

“We believe that investing in professional growth of new generations is the main mission of progressive and high technology companies in Ukraine. In Ukraine, EPAM Systems drive projects for students and pupils who want to work in IT sphere. They are equipped with knowledge, skills and, above all, possibilities to promote our country on a competitive international market”, says Yuriy Antoniuk, VP at EPAM Ukraine.

During the event the guests got familiar with Ukrainian inventors and scientists, who would present their projects at Falling Walls Lab Kyiv 2017. A diminutive device for heart control Cardiomo, discharged water cleansing technology to turn it into biofuel, and a Sincere Tech project – portative detectors that analyze people’s biomedical markers by means of artificial intelligence are among them.
